Green Energy PR
This case study describes our public relations campaign about Passive Houses and the success of a green energy housing firm in winning its first export order for a green energy social housing project in the UK.
Solution
We developed two key angles for this campaign, which was executed through regional, broadcast and specialist media. These included the ‘green’ angle — this kind of house design is so energy-efficient that extra heating is rarely needed — and the ‘jobs and wealth’ angle — distance from export markets is no object for a company manufacturing and marketing a superior product.
The story received extensive coverage in the:
- Irish Independent
- Connaught Tribune
- Connacht Sentinel
- Galway Advertiser
- Longford Leader
- Clare People; and
- Construction & Property News
We secured headline news coverage for almost an entire day on the client’s local radio station, Galway Bay FM. We also arranged an extended ‘live’ interview for the firm’s founder, Vincent Joyce, with the radio station’s chief current affairs presenter, Keith Finnegan.
Outcome
Our public relations campaign has been instrumental in positioning Thermal Timber Homes in the vanguard of the revolution in ‘green’ house building technology, and in cementing the idea that small companies in isolated places can compete in overseas markets.
